Frenchman takes out Swiss great

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is the winner of the men's singles title at the Rogers Cup.
The 13th-seeded Frenchman defeated second-seeded Roger Federer of Switzerland 7-5, 7-6 (3) in front of a near-capacity crowd on a warm, sunny afternoon at Rexall Centre.
It's the second career Masters 1000 Series win for Tsonga and first victory at this event.
Tsonga earns US$598,900 for winning the $3.78-million US tournament while Federer takes home $293,650 as the finalist.
It's Tsonga's first ATP title of the season and 11th of his career.
Earlier, Bruno Soares of Brazil and Alexander Peya of Austria won the doubles crown with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ivan Dodig of Croatia and Marcelo Melo of Brazil.
